The course will provide an introductory and preparatory framework for those who are or will be called to care for seniors. Learners will include spouses, adult children, friends and relatives of aging adults as well as paid caregivers and senior service organizations.

Pre-requisites

There are no formal prerequisites for this course, but completion of English 12 with a minimum grade of “C” or proof of equivalent as outlined in detail on the English Proficiency page is assumed.

  • medical terms and conditions
  • healthcare systems
  • personal care and equipment
  • financial and legal considerations
  • housing and advocacy
  • caregiver wellness and supports
